We have had a great response to the dinner so far with over 40 confirmed guests! This is a promising start and thank you to those who have shown support, but there are still many of you yet to reply. Please do get in contact if you are interested in attending and please share the event with fellow ORs. We are aiming to finalise numbers by the 28th February.
We are delighted to announce that Chris Read and Simon Guy will be doing a Q&A on the night.
Chris took over 1000 dismissals as a wicketkeeper and scored over 16000 first class runs in his 20-year first class career, which included 26 hundreds. He played for England 52 times and captained Nottinghamshire to the One Day Cup victory in 2017 as well as to victory in the Championship in 2010. Chris joined Repton at the beginning of the Lent Term in 2019 on a full-time basis after retiring from the professional game in 2017 and directs all aspects of the School’s cricket programme, including coaching the 1st XI.
Simon is now Director of Cricket Performance at Denstone College and is one of the most experienced Level 4 coaches in the country. He has worked for England Under 17 and Under 19 following his 16 year career for Yorkshire and Suffolk.
It will be fascinating to not only hear stories from their county and international careers, but also how both have transitioned into being masters in charge of cricket.
